Paddleboard

GPa spent the afternoon on the placid bay learning to paddleboard.

The rest of us watched him from the nearby groin, climbing on rocks and tumbled brick walls, peeking at the fiddler crabs, and relaxing with the shore birds.  

Happy Birthday, GPa!

 Happy Birthday, GPa! We returned to the Captain  Kidd in Kemah for another pirate-style birthday cruise on Galveston Bay.  We warily eyed the thunderstorms throughout the day, but they blew over and we had perfect sailing weather.

The girls thought they'd gotten the best carnival ride when the sailboat turned around... I just felt like I needed to hold on to them... TIGHT!

First Day of Second Grade

Go Riptides!

Today was the first football game of the Riptide season, and the girls were thrilled to be able to don their cheerleading uniforms.  It was a hot, hot afternoon game, but the girls were troopers.

Rainforest Cafe

Chicks and Geeps let the girls choose an end-of-summer special treat.  The winner was.... Rainforest Cafe! Happy times.
