Chickie and GPa came for an early celebration of the girls' birthday (in keeping with the Schoob tradition of a birthday season, rather than just a birthday).
The girls were pretty excited to take them to their favorite restaurant, Spring Creek BBQ, where GPa treated them to some tasty chocolate ice cream. Mmm.
Izzy started clamoring for Chickie to bring out her ipad as soon as we settled down in the living room. She LOVES playing the memory and matching games that Chickie has loaded on there for the girls. Abby's lucky to get a swipe in here or there.
The beach is, of course, the highlight of any visit to Galveston. It was our first real trip of the year, and the girls were in high spirits, collecting shells, climbing on the rocks, and having a generally wonderful time!
One of our favorite family activities is running like Phoebe on the beach. Izzy taught Chickie how to do it this time, but for Chicki's privacy, I'll just post a picture of Izzy...
When Chicki and GPa were here for Christmas, the girls were using the packing styrofoam that came with my mixer as baby beds. When GPa overheard Izzy asking where her "baby's garbage" was, because her baby needed to go to sleep, he knew something needed to be done, and so...
...Grace and Elayne received new cradles! The girls LOVE them, and are frequently running back to their rooms to tuck their babies in or to wake them up from a nap.
GPa and Chickie also got the girls a human hamster ball for the backyard. They were a little nervous at first, preferring to push it around the yard, rather than crawl inside, but they're warming up and having a great time with it now!
We had a great visit and can't wait for Chickie and GPa to come back in the spring!

I think Phoebe running is my favorite moments in Friends. That and when Joey puts on all of Chandler's clothes. Hilarious!
