Dan and the girls dropped me off seven miles down the beach and then went out for donuts before meeting me at "our" beach so that I could squeeze in a long run before the half marathon that I'm running with my sisters in February. It was a foggy day, but perfect temperature for a run. The girls hadn't been to the beach in a while, so they were thrilled to get to play in the sand, and while the water was pretty chilly, the 70 degree temps made it pretty tempting for us all to do a little wading.
After we cleaned up, the girls cashed in on their first big reading reward.... they finished their first book with chapters (The Adventures of Little Bear), reading it all by themselves each day, first to Mom and then to Dad. They chose the Rainforest Cafe as their special prize. They had a great time, although they have a hard time deciding whether to be delighted or frightened by the periodic thunderstorms.
Great job, girlies! We are so proud of you!
