We finally made it to a show at the Miller Outdoor Theater! Opera to Go did a presentation of the Chinese Folk Talk "The Clever Wife." It was a little bit above the girls' heads, but they enjoyed the music and were able to tell Dan the overall gist of the play this evening. After the production, we went out in the park for a picnic by the pond.
And fed the ducks some crusty bread, much to everyone's delight.
After lunch, everyone seemed quite perky, so we decided to do a quick trip to the zoo (which is adjacent to the MOT and Hermann Park). Abby got to high-give a meerkat,
and sprawl out next to the Komodo Dragon.
We tried to stick to the indoor exhibits for the most part, since the Texas heat is already making itself known in the afternoons. The Natural Encounters building has a crawl-through piranha tank that provides hours of fun. (Okay, hours might be stretching the truth, but not by much!)
We spent a LONG time at the reptile house. Abby's "special" animal is a stuffed iguana, so she was pretty thrilled to get to see one in real life. The girls have a "Snakes and Cakes" birthday party to attend on Saturday, so I think this really set the stage for some reptile regalement then :)
