Jump-o-lene!

We've had a very active week! The girls had VERY different reactions to their first day of class. Abby took one look at the gym equipment and decided that it was the place for her... and wanted no part in playing (what she clearly considered to be the lamest of lame) games on the mat with the rest of the class. Instead, she wanted to bounce on the squishy mats under the balance beams and bars, and crawl through the tunnels. Conversely, Izzy didn't want me to let go of her hand, and when the teacher tried to have her participate in a demonstration activity, she cried and cried. Chasing after Abby without letting Izzy feel abandoned was quite a feat! We did really well during "exploration time." Izzy did a great job with the "skills," as long as I was the "spotter," and not the teacher. She REALLY seems to enjoy forward rolls. I think that they'll both start to adjust toward the middle, Abby getting used to the structure, and Izzy getting more comfortable in the environment, as the session moves on... but I'm very much looking forward to the weeks when Chickigram and GPa will be here visiting so that we can have another set of hands on deck!

The girls wanted to be able to practice their new skills at home, so they used some of their birthday money to buy a Jump-o-lene! We just got the air pump today, and the girls spent the afternoon jumping, running, and of course, relaxing in the Jump-o-lene. Lots of giggles. Love it.

The girls and I joined my friend Rachel and her kiddos at the Y on Tuesday afternoon... it was my first foray into the waters without Dan since the girls became mobile and brave, and it was an adventure. The girls are moderately good at following directions, but they're still a little too big for their britches and want to be free. It's going to be a fun summer! Dan joined us after work, and the girls were THRILLED to see him. We took them down the little slides and completely wore them out :) I'll try to remember my camera the next time we're there!

Pooltime at home is a little more relaxing :)...
