Aunt Casey came to visit this week! She'll be here through Saturday, and we have a jam-packed week of fun planned :) Our first order of business was, of course, the beach, which is where we headed shortly after we picked Casey up at the airport. The girls were thrilled to be able to play in the water and to collect shells. They're happily kicking and floating these days, and laughing at the waves. Abby seems to have some strange ideas about feeling the sand in her toes...
This morning, we headed up to the zoo. They have a new baby giraffe... so sweet!
The girls are big enough now that they can see and get excited about the animals. We talked about the giraffe's long neck, and Izzy pointed to her own neck, and Abby trumpeted when we came upon the elephant exhibit. It's a LOT of fun watching them run around, but I'm thinking that it might be time to invest in "kid leashes," since safety will trump appearances when the ratio of child:adult goes back to 2:1 :)
The girls weren't quite sure what to make of the cages and barriers... they seemed to think that they were for climbing...
We'll probably head back down to the beach tomorrow, and are hoping to get to the Arboretum again sometime this week. Casey and I are going to have a girls night out to see The Time Traveler's Wife tomorrow, and then she's going to babysit for us so that we can have a date night on Friday. What a great week!!!
