He is Risen Indeed!

We had a GREAT Easter and hope that you did, too!

We started out the day by donning our Easter dresses. The girls have been VERY excited about wearing them... they are definitely girly-girls! They also got to wear their fancy bows, which was another bit of happiness to start the day! The girls found their Easter baskets on their reading chairs, and were VERY excited by the new babies they found in them, complete with infant seats and disappearing-milk-bottles.

The Easter Egg Hunt at church before the service was very fun, but Izzy was pretty icked out by the dewy grass and the little grass seeds that stuck to her damp toes. Abby would not be deterred, and came back with a basketful of eggs :)

Half of our Life Group kiddos posed for an Easter picture. Cuties!

After church, we drove down to Galveston. The girls (and their new babies) napped in the car for the duration of the drive.

Izzy's hair formed a perfect little curl right in the middle of her forehead. I wanted to get a picture of it while we waited for our table at the Easter brunch at Moody Gardens. This was Izzy's response to my request that she smile for the camera:

And THIS is her response when I handed the camera to Dad:

Hmmm. Seems to me that the poem holds some measure of truth...

There was a little girl
Who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead.
And when she was good,
She was very, very good.
And when she was bad,
She was HORRID.

The girls behaved fairly well at brunch. They're two, so Dan and I try to make allowances for that, but are often chagrined by our decision to take them out to eat...

On our way back to the van, the girls became mesmerized by a Ford F-150...

I couldn't figure out WHAT they were looking at until they said, "Hi Abby Obert! Hi Izzy Obert!" Silly girls.

We changed the girls out of their Easter dresses and into the equally exciting swim suits for our first trip to SWIM at the beach this year! The girls were excited to show Flat Stanley the Gulf of Mexico...

They (Abby and Izzy, NOT Flat Stanley) were THRILLED to get to splash in the water. Izzy ran back and forth, back and forth, picking up shells, bringing them to me, and then throwing them in the water. Abby just ran.... sometimes between Dan and I, and once, down the beach, fast as lightning, after a dog. It's going to be a crazy fun summer!
