Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

We're not sure about our methods, but we taught the girls to say, "Jesus is risen!" to which the other responds, "He is risen, indeed!" by rewarding them with M&M's. They love it! And, oh, how we love Easter and springtime in Texas!

The girls had a great time at the Pearland Eggdrop last weekend. They took home LOTS of eggs, and had a great time bouncing in the bounce house.

The girls were eager to share their enthusiasm for bouncing with Flat Stanley. He wasn't QUITE as excited as they were, but he seemed to have a pretty good time!

The Egg drop was held "off site," so we got to ride a big yellow bus to the event, which was VERY exciting for the girls... the picture was taken at the end of the morning, past our normal naptime, so it doesn't quite capture the true enthusiasm and love for their favorite vehicle.

Today, we had a fantastic outside day! The Bluebonnets finally bloomed in full force, so we took our annual photo shoot. The flowers were a little dewy, which made the girls a little icked out by their wet feet, but overall, we had a good time....

Flat Stanley was very thrilled to get to experience the glory of the Texas State Flower in person.

After the photo shoot, we decided to stop by the park to enjoy the beautiful weather and were pleasantly surprised to find an Easter Extravaganza taking place! A local church had a huge celebration going on. We'd missed the egg hunt, but Izzy was VERY taken by the Easter Bunny...

We got to see our "normal" park favorites, the fountain...

...and the turtle pond...

...and then we stopped by the gazebo to listen to the Easter story. The girls were both attentive at the beginning, when Jesus sent His disciples to get the donkey...

...but Abby got a little distracted by a little boy's face painting by the Triumphal Entry.

And even our normally attentive Izzy was unable to stay still through the end when the stone was rolled away.

It's pretty fun to get to see the girls in new-ish situations. At story time at the library, the girls are on my lap, and Miss Bonnie follows a pretty strict schedule of songs, stories, more songs, and a craft. It's interesting to see the girls apply their standards of behavior to different scenarios.

After the Easter story, we bounced in the bounce houses... for a LONG time, and then peeled the girls away with a promise of a petting zoo in the other corner of the park. Izzy was very excited to pet the lamb...

...but both girls were a little intimidated by the size of the full-grown sheep...

All in all, a BUSY and fun morning, followed by a great nap, a pedicure for Mom (woo hoo!!!), and a fun Final Four party to cap off the day. We LOVE our Texas weather... Happy 80-degrees today!!!
