Ferry Rides

We finished up our weekend taking a ferry ride to Bolivar. The girls LOVE hanging on the railings and running on the view deck. I LOVE getting to see the bottlenose dolphins jumping and diving. And it's all free fun!

We got off the ferry and walked along the beach on the other side... it's much less traveled than the beaches in Galveston, so we got to see a lot more seashells and hermit crabs.

The girls are getting better and better at distinguishing between bivalves, gastropods, and crustaceans. Marine Biologist Mommy is very proud.

Izzy is explaining to her sister that this one USED to be a gastropod and is now inhabited by a crustacean.

We are working with the girls to perfect their smiles for the camera. For a while, it was cute to tell them to laugh, but we're getting an awful lot of shots that look like this... :)

After the ferry, we decided to check out the new butterfly exhibit at Moody Gardens. It was pretty cool, but outdoors and FULL of mosquitos, so we zipped through the "aMAZEing" maze of butterflies and bounced back over to our old standby, the aquarium. The sea turtle was being pretty friendly, which was exciting.
