This picture doesn't do it justice, but the sunset off of the pier at our friends' beach house tonight was a perfect natural fireworks show for the evening!
We've had a great holiday weekend so far. We did a little gardening, picking all of our potatoes and our first sugar baby watermelon of the season.
We didn't get quite the bountiful harvest of potatoes that I was hoping for (the package of seed potatoes promised 5lbs per plant),
but they are delicious! The watermelon wasn't QUITE done, so now we know to let them ripen a little more on the vine...
On Saturday, we visited Moody Gardens. It's a lot more crowded on the weekends, but the girls love having their Dad there!
Saturday evening, we visited our new favorite park.
It seems that people have been feeding the ducks and geese, because they are willing to come VERY close. We also got to pet a BIG dog named Milton and to see lots of fish jumping in the bayou. The girls are getting more curious about the other kids at the park, which is fun. They're not exactly interacting with kids that they don't know, but they do like to stare awkwardly at them!
Today, we celebrated the USA's birthday with good friends, pool time, fireworks, and tasty treats. We love living so close to the beach and are so blessed to have such a great family of friends!
....and as a special 4th of July treat, a case of the giggles!
Hope watching this brings a smile to your face!
