Harvest Festival

Our city celebrated the season with a Harvest Festival today, so we grabbed our little butterflies and flitted over to the festivities.

The city opened up a fleet of vehicles for the kids to climb in.  Abby was a little disappointed that her feet wouldn't reach the pedals in the fire truck... not sure where she thought she'd go if they did! Both girls climbed right into the back of the police car, but seemed to instinctively know it wasn't a good place to be because they jumped right back out before they made themselves comfortable.

The girls had a fun time watching their butterfly shadows in the gazebo... and then entertained themselves (and their parents) for a while flitting around and being generally hilarious.

We took a little hayride through the historic part of town which was pretty fun.

And, since the festival took place at one of our playground haunts, we set the butterflies free to play for a while before naptime.
