We've been so fortunate to have had wonderful weather lately, and it's only getting better! (Sorry, Jessie, Caitlin, Chelle, Casey... I'm not bragging, just stating facts...)The girls now know to head for the back door whenever I ask them if they want to play outside, and Izzy has gotten over her fear of the playground equipment. Abby sometimes crawls on her hands and feet (bear-walk style) when she's wearing shorts or a dress because she doesn't like the feel of the grass on her legs, but other than that, they just love being out there!
They give me a running commentary when we're playing, and they don't seem to mind that I don't quite understand everything they're saying yet :)
Back inside, the brown chairs are still a big hit, although the girls prefer climbing on them to reading in them lately. They definitely know that "buns down" means to sit nicely, but whether or not they feel like obeying from minute to minute is another story.
The girls had their first Valentine's Day party on Friday with my Mothers of Multiples group. Monkey'N Around is basically a big room filled with lots of big toys for toddlers... they have the same little tikes playground that we have, and some monkey bars, a tunnel, lots of push toys and big balls, and MUCH more. It's really a little haven of activity, and with the room filled with oodles of twins, it was a madhouse of fun! :) The girls ate their first sugar cookies... and loved them, and were basically unstoppable for the 2 hours that we were there. Abby took off as soon as we stepped inside, and Izzy only took a few minutes to warm up...as soon as she saw the other kids playing, she was off and running. They weren't totally interested in playing with each other, but Dan and I were both there, so we each followed a daughter and had a wonderful time all around. I'm definitely planning to keep that place in the back of my mind for our next rainy day activity!
