First Birthday Eve

It's been a flurry of activity around here this week as we prepare for the girls' first birthday, but we still found time to play. The girls LOVE their new play structure; yes, GPa let them play on it as soon as it was finished instead of making them wait until their birthday. They are having a blast. We've been spending a lot of time outside, between the landscaping and the new fence, and the girls are loving it.

Abby is back to loving the swings. Izzy is taking a little time to warm up to them, but she's crawling into the one on her Little Tikes playset and giggling, so it won't be long before we find her gazing longingly at the swings on the big play set...

The girls are definitely trying to be too big for their britches... they're actually trying to CLIMB the climbing wall...

and when we let them play in the clubhouse, they are quick to make a beeline for whichever opening is NOT guarded by an adult.

We're so glad that they're loving it, and we know all too well that they'll be climbing and swinging on their own before we can blink. This year has gone by WAY too fast... but we are loving every minute.

The evenings have been a little more relaxed... the girls talked GPa into reading them one of their favorites, Quick as a Cricket. He didn't seem to mind one bit :)
