I know, I know, I've been slacking on the postings, but for good reason.... Nana O came to visit! We had a perfect long weekend with her, and are very sad that she's on her way back home to Montana. The girls loved having her here... Abby seemed to really find her giggle whenever Nana was around, and both girls were happy to walk to her whenever she opened her arms :)
On Friday, we went to the Moody Gardens Aquarium in Galveston. The girls are LOVING having a little more freedom when we're out and about, and they continue to be mesmerized by everything aquatic, which is great fun for me!
Nana got the girls some toy balls for Valentine's Day. Izzy LOVED the giant squooshy ball, but for some reason, it TERRIFIES Abby. She shudders and screams whenever it touches her, and the night that she got it, she refused to even be in the same room with it! Crazy! She does, however, love the Sesame Street ball with Abby Kadabby (sp?) on it. She and Nana played a rousing game of Annie-Annie Over against Dad and Izzy on Sunday afternoon.
While Nana was here, we planted the citrus trees that we got last weekend in honor of the girls' first birthday. We were so glad that she could be here for the occasion! We had a perfect afternoon, and the girls LOVED playing outside. We planted a lime tree and a mandarin orange in the back corner of our yard... we hope that they start bearing fruit soon... the girls LOVE mandarin oranges.

...and then took a break to play daredevil on her swingset...
Then she tried to take a turn driving the little car, but Izzy wasn't having it :)
And, in sort of a catch-all end-of-post wrap-up...Abby still loves Dog, the girls love each other, and I am trying to have "structured" learning time at the table for a few minutes each day. Here's what all of that looks (and sounds) like...
