I'm not sure we've expressed enough just how much we LOVE Texas weather. I do sometimes miss the crisp air that an Illinois fall brings, but comparing that to an afternoon outside with the girls in late October in which we're all comfortable in shorts and tank tops.... it's just heavenly!
We have been fighting colds for a while, or maybe some seasonal allergies. Either way, the constantly dripping noses have made for less-than-photogenic moments and not-very-fun stories. As we emerged from our sick-house, I did take the camera to capture a beautiful afternoon...
The girls are really becoming little girls... one of their favorite activities is "Babies," wherein the girls request to watch slideshows of themselves on Picassa. We've been randomly selecting folders (which are all saved by week of life from birth until now) and we're so amazed by the contrast of their appearance, abilities, and personalities now to their baby pictures of even less than a year ago!
Another favorite activity is swinging out on the beam over the slide. A little nerve-wracking for Mom and Dad, but very fun for the girls...
In other news, we got our H1N1 vaccines today... the county had a health clinic at the mall; we expected REALLY long lines, but my friend Jenn and I only had to entertain the kiddos for about an hour and a half which was much better than we anticipated. We had some tears, but all in all, it was a success!
AND, Dan's actuarial test is over! This one was a doozy... 7 hours of written responses. Whoa! Now we have to settle in for the interminable wait for the scores... we won't hear back until December or January. Boo. But we are glad that Dan can relax on the study hours for a little while, at least through the holidays, before he starts in on the next exam.
Tune in tomorrow for Halloween costumes! I finally finished them tonight... the girls are going as "life sized" Lamb and Dog. If only we can get them into their costumes....
