Harvest

Happy Thanksgiving! We had a great day, full of good food and family. We had just our immediate family for dinner, and then our extended family for a dessert festival. It was a great day, and even without naps the girls were little giggling delights.

The temperature dropped almost 30 degrees overnight (we had a HOT and humid Thanksgiving), and the girls snuggled themselves together in our living room blanket this morning, with much merriment.

We may have a light frost tonight, so we harvested our oranges. It was quite a bit more enjoyable than our frantic harvest last year, in that we put on our cold-weather clothes and prepared the girls for the chill, but they didn't last for more than a few minutes... enough to get some cute pictures at least!

It was pretty cold... I had to run inside for some gloves to complete the harvest, and Dan and the girls watched from the garden window in the bathroom.

We brought the oranges into the kitchen and separated them into "juicers" and "eaters," depending on how pretty they were on the outside. We had a bountiful harvest and can't wait to go get a juicer tomorrow!
