Nana's Visit

 We had an amazing time when Nana came to visit this week.  She got to get a little peek inside the girls' schedule and watch their swimming lessons and horseback riding lessons, and we also got to do some really fun Nana-exclusives! :)

On Tuesday, we attended a Biologist Talk at the Aquarium Restaurant in Kemah with some friends that we met through Little Gym.  The girls love their marine animals, so this was quite a treat!

The highlight of the event was feeding and observing the sting rays.  Despite their feeding-the-animals experiences at Sea World, the girls were intimidated by the rays (maybe their name?). but they were really thrilled to watch the baby sting rays in their "nursery."

 On Tuesday evening, we drove up to the Bay Area Equestrian Center for our horseback riding lessons.  The girls are showing definite improvement and are so confident with the horses.  They get their brushes and combs out as soon as they get there and then they're off and running!

Since the warm weather arrived, the trainers have been taking the girls outside for part of their lesson, where they're learning to lead the horses up over little hills and to walk and trot around in circles.  

No visit to Galveston would be complete without a LOT of beach time, so the girls showed Nana their favorite spots.  Nana got to swim out and jump and play in the waves to her heart's content.  

On Thursday, Nana braided the girls' hair, much to their delight.  They kept telling Dan and I to look at their beautiful hair and asked Nana every morning until she left if she would do their hair again :) Nana also took us shopping and got the girls matching Dora dresses, which they want to wear every day, and to bed, putting them back on the instant they come out of the laundry room :) They have full skirts and they LOVE to twirl and dance. 

Thursday evening, we went to the dog track.  The weather was perfect and we spent most of the evening in the outside bleachers, up close to watch the dogs.  We won some, we lost many, but had a wonderful time, and of course, got to meet one of the adoptable greyhounds before we left for the evening. 

We stopped by the confectionery after a full morning of shopping the Strand on Saturday. The girls were rewarded for their (relative) patience and (sort of) best behavior with chocolate! They were HAPPY to get here!

Uncle Greg is working out of Corpus Christie and came up for an Astros game with Dan and Nana on Saturday and a Farewell to the Beach on Sunday morning.  We had an amazing, wonderful, stupendous week and can't wait until Nana comes back!
