The Historic Pleasure Pier has been an eagerly anticipated destination by the Obert twins, who have been watching its progress since the Flagship Hotel came down in the spring of 2011. We watched the rides and buildings go up, and this month, the Pier opened for business! Not all of the rides were open, and we were a little nervous that the girls wouldn't be tall enough to ride many rides, but we were incredibly pleasantly surprised by the level of fun we had, despite the blazin' hot day that we chose!
By far, the girls' favorite ride was the Hoppin' Frog. The lines were short, and the girls hopped off after each ride, made a cursory request to do it again, then raced to get back into line. So fun!
We were a little nervous that the bumper cars might upset them, what with the bumping and all (Chickie had terrible memories of the attraction as a child, not understanding why everyone was trying to bump into her car), but they got the hang of things and really loved that ride as well!
