Aunt Casey is here again!

The girls had their 6-month appointment on Friday... it was the first one that I took them to without a grandma or dad to help with the holding during the immunizations, but we all made it out of there without too many tears :( The girls are growing beautifully... Izzy is now 17 pounds and 7.2 oz and is 25 1/2" tall; Abby is 16 lbs 5.9 oz and is 25" tall. They're both growing appropriately, and they're meeting all of their milestones-hurray!

Izzy is sitting really well on her own now, and Abby is almost there, although she topples over occasionally.

Aunt Casey flew in on Friday afternoon for a visit. Of course, that meant a trip to the beach on Saturday! It's amazing how much more the girls are noticing and interacting with their environment than they were just a month ago when Chickigram and GPa were here! They both were sitting up in their beach cabana, playing with their toys and giggling at the wind. They were both also a lot more tolerant of playing in the waves. They're starting to learn how to splash, which is pretty fun. We are working on that in the bathtub, too. They've graduated out of the sling/hammock thing in their infant tub to just sitting up, which means that they can play with toys now! We introduced them to Rubber Ducky yesterday, which was a really big hit :)

Casey is here through Tuesday... unless Hurricane Gustav has other plans... and we're all excited to have her here!
