Today, Mom and Dad were tired, and the babies were ever-so-slightly subdued, but it was a relatively non-eventful day of recovery... the throw ups have passed, we never broke a fever, and we're hoping that the girls' other GI issues pass just as quickly. We shall see.
The stomach bug came after a weekend flurry of activity. On Friday, we took a trip to the zoo with my friend Maya and her daughter, Reina. It was a great day... nice and overcast so as to not be unbearably hot, but still definitely Texas :) The girls were, again, transfixed by the giraffes...
...and we gave the petting zoo another try; the goats weren't quite as catatonic as they were last time. The girls enjoyed brushing their coats and pointing at their body parts. We're working really hard at teaching them not to touch eyes for identification.
Saturday morning, we had a Life Group garage sale, which was a lot of fun! Kids running around everywhere, delicious smoked chicken, great deals, and fantastic friends... a perfect Saturday. The girls made themselves at home playing with the toys and baby items for sale. Abby was particularly interested in the travel high chair :)
After a nice long nap that afternoon, we took the girls to the Live Oaks Festival in League City. The girls were transfixed by the therapy dogs and the SPCA pets that were there... and Dan and I reconfirmed with one another that we are so glad that we can go to festivals and VISIT dogs, because we love them, and the girls love them, but we just don't think that we'll ever welcome one into our home!
The girls had a great time in the big jumper. Izzy is getting much braver, and more sturdy on her feet. Abby is still jumping with GREAT joy and vigor and getting LOTS of air with every jump. Very fun.
... and after a busy day, the girls went to bed early... and you know the rest of that story!
