Murdoch's!
Murdoch's is open again! They haven't started selling their pina coladas yet, but the back patio is open, so we bought the girls some maracas in celebration :) They've mastered the word "beach" and are very excited to point out the water and the birds every time we make it down to Galveston.
After Murdoch's, we made our way over to Moody Gardens, where Santa and his elves parachuted in to flip the switch on for the Festival of Lights. Unfortunately, the power went out, delaying the festivities and making our girls, who hadn't gotten enough nappage throughout the day, very antsy. They enjoyed the ballerinas dancing the Nutcracker for about two of the twenty minutes that they performed, and they were transfixed by the airplane for about 30 seconds before they melted down... well before Santa actually appeared. We did our best, but decided that it was in everyone's best interest to head home and let the girls get some sleep in the car. The best laid plans....
The girls slept well last night, but woke up retaining their coughs, so we kept them home from church today, to protect the rest of the kiddos from catching this cold. The girls are definitely feeling better, but they sound awful.
Izzy loves the cats, and has learned Mike's name. It's sometimes confusing now when she spots him and we tell her to go to the refrigerator for her milk... she meows to clarify, and all is well. She's very gentle. It's amazing to us that they're SO communicative these days! Very fun.
