Jenga blocks

I found some multi-colored Jenga blocks in our games closet and brought them into the classroom. The girls quickly decided that reds were Izzy's and yellows were Abby's. Mom got blues by default. After some stacking, sorting, and counting, I made a "structure" and asked the girls to recreate it with their blocks. The results were pretty interesting... the girls were very intent on their work, but couldn't complete the task. Later, with coaching, they got it. It's really fascinating to watch their minds processing new tasks. I LOVE my job!
