We have LOVED having Sybil's extended family in town, because we LOVE getting to tag along to all of their field trips! Today was a PERFECT day at the beach, and we had a blast.
The tide was in when we got there, and had filled up a little tidepool/lagoon on the beach, separated from the waves by a little sandbar. The kids (and the moms) loved it! The girls got down to blow bubbles...
...and to float...
The beach was pretty empty except for a lone fisherman. I think the girls felt like they had a lot more freedom to run and play with fewer people and fewer waves (in the lagoon).
Abby was the adventurer today, asking me to take her out in the "big waves" several times, and running after the birds.
Izzy was a little more chill, preferring to stay in the lagoon and collecting rocks and shells.
Both girls played hard, and made it almost an hour and a half before this...
I managed to keep them awake with fruit snacks and Rice Chex on the way home... and they're now having a nice long post-beach nap.
