We got to go to the beach AGAIN yesterday! Our friends (who live in Galveston) had a baby on Tuesday, so we brought them a meal as an excuse to ooh and ahh over Baby Luke :) Since we were on the island already, we took a picnic to the beach and let the girls run wild. They LOVED it!
The girls were content on the shoreline for a little while, collecting shells and throwing them back into the water.
It wasn't long, however, before the girls insisted on donning their swim suits and splashing, spinning, and sprinting into the water.
They love making sand-drip designs on their legs...
and doing flips and other acrobatics in the water.
We had a full evening of general frivolity and fun.
The girls chased their Dad up and down the beach...the laughter at the end of this video was pretty much the soundtrack of our entire evening.
An egret stalked the shoreline while we were there. We watched it catch and eat a tiny fish, and fly from place to place over the course of the evening.
If we had unlimited funds, we would DEFINITELY invest in a condo on the beach. In the meantime, we look at the sand in the car as a very small price to pay for pure bliss.
