Izzy, telling a story to Mom and Sister.
We've had a busy week! We got back to Texas late, late, late Sunday night, and we've been spending lots of time down at the cottage since then, in order to make the best of these days with Chickigram and GPa. The girls have changed so much in the time that they've been here! While they're not actually sitting up on their own, their core strength is getting better and better, and they're interacting a lot more, which is so much fun to watch. Here they are on the couch in the solarium at the cottage, playing with their toys.

We had some excitement in the Gulf when Dolly hit the coast down at South Padre Island. Our weather got stormy, and the waves were ginormous and gorgeous. We took the girls down to Murdoch's (a tourist shop that juts out over the water) to take in the waves the day after the storm hit... the wind made them laugh and laugh!
On Thursday night, we went to the dog track! We had such a fun time "voting" for the dogs we thought would win (usually the ones with the best names). We won some and lost some, and had a great time eating 50-cent hot dogs and watching the amazing animals. The girls watched out the window, but seemed a little more excited about watching the kids run around down below than they were in the races themselves :)

We went to the beach on Friday, and took Molly and Daisy, the beagle and puggle that accompanied Chickigram and GPa on the trip... they have become true sea dogs and love chasing the waves and the seagulls. The girls love the wind at the beach, although it does get pretty warm for them pretty quickly. Their beach cabana is pretty great, though!

Tummy time, while still not our favorite activity, has become a lot less traumatic! The girls are holding their heads up like champs, and Abby did roll over again (front to back). Since it's only been twice, we're still not sure we can check it off the milestone checklist, but it's in her repertoire apparently! The girls are really good at scooting, on their backs or their fronts, but they seem to move to move, rather than with intention to get somewhere. I am not sure whether I'm looking forward to the day that they figure out the whole intentional locomotion thing or dreading it, but I know that they're on the cusp! Crazy times.

Spending so much time at the cottage has meant time away from what Chickigram has dubbed "the daycare." The girls have bouncy seats, jumparoos, and an activity gym spread out across our living room, and none of the items travel well. The girls seem to recognize and get excited about their "equipment" when we are home, which is pretty cool!

Hmmmm...Gpa and Chickigram were just wondering what happened on July 25th?
Are you talking to yourself, Nicci?
Mom is so silly... she used my account to view the blog and then started making crazy comments, willy nilly. Crazy Chickigram
