The girls tried their first taste of "real food" on July 2, after their 4-month appointment. It was pretty hilarious. Izzy didn't really know what to do with it, so she pretty much spit everything back out. Abby, on the other hand, found it to be absolutely delicious and started screaming between every bite for more! We're trying to feed them AFTER they nurse now, so that she's not actually hungry when she's eating, so that it's not such a traumatic experience :) Our second high chair should be arriving today, and that will make mealtime a little easier.
Chickigram and GPa arrived on the 1st, and we've been having a great time playing at their cottage. They're about 2 blocks from the beach, so we can just walk down there and enjoy the water for a little while, and then walk back when the girls get too warm. Izzy is not a big fan of the waves, but Abby seems to tolerate them OK. I'm working on them and trying to develop their love for the water...
Being on "vacation time" in Galveston is kind of messing with the girls' sleep schedules, which was VERY BAD yesterday. We're trying to find a balance that will give the grown-ups some freedom and flexibility, but which won't send the girls into a full-fledged meltdown. It is a tricky balance.
The girls are really paying attention to each other, which has been a lot of fun. I'm still worried that they're going to start speaking "twin" one of these days and leave me out of the loop, but I'm thrilled when they smile at each other!
