Goodbye Chickigram and GPa

We had such a good visit with Chickigram and GPa, and we're so sad that they had to go home. We keep trying to convince them to move on down here, but Chickigram says that she has to keep working for the man for a few years. She only got to visit for a (very short) long weekend this time because she had to get back to help her students get ready for ISAT tests. :( The girls LOVE having them around and became especially fond of GPa over his long visit.

While he was here, GPa rebuilt our fence, constructed a gate, restructured our composting system, contstructed the playstructure, and helped with about a million other projects. He was never too busy to take time out to play with the girls, and they just loved him. A HUGE thank you to GPa. We were so sad to see him leave this morning for the long drive home to icy Illinois.

We've spent so much time outside over the past two weeks that the girls started having their snacks on the Snack Mat. The girls seem to love the freedom to move around, but we do run into some issues with food thievery :)

Chickigram and GPa decided that the girls needed a picnic table to properly eat outside, so GPa whipped one up on his last day. The girls LOVE it!

I wasn't there for these pictures, but giggled when I came across them this morning. Abby LOVES playing peek-a-boo, almost as much as she LOVES the cats, so I'm guessing that this game was a dream come true :)

What fun!!! I think my parents want to move here in a few years, after my mom retires (she's waiting to claim her pension! lol). I know of a bunch of other friends who want to move here too.

We should make it our job in life to get the Hahn and Schoob families from Illinois to move to Texas!! :)

Would GPa mind making a quick stop in Ohio to do some building here? The swing set is awesome as well as the picnic area. Too cute!!!!!!

I wish we could spend the days outside already. It's been a little warmer today but by far not warm enough to wear short sleeve shirts and shorts :-(
