Cats and Lemons

The girls have been giving Mike and Rica a LOT of attention over the past few days, petting, snuggling, and otherwise manhandling them. Abby is very attentive whenever they want to go in and out of the garage (while we DO have a cat door, Mike and Rica much prefer to wait by the door for a human to open it than deign to step through a door designed just for them...) and is quick to tell me if they're out of food or water.

We got so excited about our oranges and our freshly-squeezed orange juice that we decided to put the juicer to work and make some homemade lemonade. We used this recipe, and it tastes really good! It's not QUITE as refreshing as the $10 fresh lemonade that we buy at the fairs and festivals that we frequent all summer (OK, it's not really $10, but the vendors do seem to be pretty proud of it), but I think that in the heat of the summer, it'll give it a run for its money.

The girls do take turns squeezing the lemons (and oranges), but Izzy seems to really take it seriously.
