First Day of Winter 2010

We welcomed winter to Galveston with an 80-degree day and a picnic dinner on the beach!

Galveston's off-season is great for shell-collecting and the girls had a great time finding their "favorites" and throwing them into the water.

The Gulf is pretty chilly, and Izzy spent a lot of time running away from the waves.

And for no reason in particular, except, perhaps, the absolute joy of an 80-degree day in December, the girls enjoyed an impromtu ring-around-the-picnic basket.

After watching the sun set on the shortest day of the year, we drove over to Moody Gardens to walk through their Festival of Lights.

The girls were very patient waiting in line...

had a fun time posing in Santa's sleigh...

...and were very glad that we remembered to bring the stroller by the end of the mile-long trek through a pretty fabulous light display.
