The girls had their 9-month birthday on November 28, the day after Thanksgiving, and we made it in today for their 9-month Well Baby exam. Izzy was 19 pounds, 9 ounces and was 28 inches long; Abby was 19 pounds, 8 ounces and was 27 1/2 inches long. They're in about the 60th percentile for weight, which is great! They're all caught up after being just a little bit early and small when they were born... hurray!
Dr. E. says that the girls are meeting their milestones very well, and was very impressed that the girls are still nursing. I know that it's a challenge for some moms, but it's been incredibly easy for us... the girls nurse about 4-5 times per day, and they're super-efficient now, taking only about 10-15 minutes each. Our plan is to go for at least a full year, maybe a little longer to get them through the cold/flu season.
The girls got their first flu shot... babies have to get two, so we'll have to go back in a month for the follow-up shot. Izzy was none too pleased about it, but Abby was very brave and didn't even cry.
