Last Post of 2008!

I can't believe that it's really the last day of 2008 already! It's crazy! We have had such an amazing year with the girls, and it's hard to remember what life was like before, when we weren't reveling in every moment, excited about every milestone. We are so, so blessed to have Abby and Izzy in our lives and we're looking forward to an even more amazing 2009.

Dan had been saving a vacation day for any emergencies that might crop up through the year, and happily, we didn't have any, so he took the day off on Monday, and we went to the zoo! The girls have been to the zoo several times, but this was the first time that they really seemed to notice the animals. Much to their Mom's delight, they were VERY taken by the fish in the aquarium house! To be honest, we've primed them a bit by letting them watch the fish at the pet store part of Walmart, but they were transfixed by all of the sea creatures. Woo hoo! We're already starting to think about when we should take their first trip to Sea World.

The meerkats were another big hit. The bigger animals, like the giraffes and the lions and the elephants were less exciting because it was harder to get the girls to notice them when they weren't moving. Every zoo visit will be more and more exciting for them, though, and that's fun for us, too!

The girls are starting to play games with us, now, instead of just the other way around. Whenever they find an item of clothing, a blanket, or sometimes, just a stuffed animal, they play peek a boo and laugh and laugh. Here is Abby after her bath last night...

We hope that everyone has a wonderful New Year! Thanks for sharing 2008 with us... we can't wait to see what 2009 will bring!

I love that picture of Izzy chillin' with her foot up on the stroller tray, and that video just about Keeld Me Ded! (Even without sound, here at work.)

You could have waited a least a week before posting a picture of Dan in a Texans hat that was apparently taken the day after the Bear's loss...and the girls are adorable. Tessa LOVED the video.

And that is a misplaced apostrophe in my last comment that I now do not know how to fix :)

I loved the video of Abby. It is amazing how fast they are growing. Just by reading your blog, I can watch them grow. It is amazing.
