Montana 2011: Day 1
The girls' cousin Zoey was born on March 6, so we hopped on a plane this week to meet her. We had a VERY early flight, but the girls were great travelers. They read their books, played with their ponies, and colored in their coloring books. The landing in Montana was a little rough, and despite the Dramamine, Izzy still succumbed to her motion sickness right after we landed... all over her mom. Ick.
After we arrived at the ranch, we had a belated- and early- birthday celebration for the girls and their cousin Hailey, whose birthday is in April. the girls got to decorate the cupcakes, which was pretty exciting. Yum.
After cupcakes, the girls played a rousing game of catch-and-throw-the-animals with their Papa. The girls very clearly remembered the ranch and their Montana family. They didn't exhibit any of their typical shyness and they ran headlong into general merriment and giggles with their cousin.
The girls were so excited to get to play with their Nana and Papa.
Winter is still going strong in Montana. There were piles of snow on the ground when we arrived, and a new little blanket fell after the sun went down on our first day there. The girls donned their borrowed winter coats and new mittens and tried out the new experience. They had a good time, but were a little intimidated by the cold.
