Happy Easter, everyone!

Well, we never did end up coloring eggs last night. Looks like we'll be having lots of omelettes in the next few days.... Instead, we went over to Kemah for dinner and fun times. We ate at Joe's Crab Shack, where the waitstaff stops occasionally to do line dances, which was a LOT of fun for Izzy. She couldn't help but join in.... the video doesn't really do her enthusiasm justice, but it'll give you a taste...
After dinner, we walked along the boardwalk, saw LOTS of seabirds, and got Dad some ice cream :) It was a very fun evening! And, of course no trip to Kemah is complete without at least one cheesy tourist picture...
The girls finally got to put some eggs in their baskets this morning!
They also found some happy Easter surprises, including some new twin-sized Adirondack chairs for outside, board-book Bibles, and, much to Izzy's delight, little lambies. Lamby's staying power has yet to be determined, but we may have found a replacement for Orca...
Despite the weather (it was sprinkling for all of these pictures), the girls had a successful egg "hunt." They were more interested in shaking the eggs than in putting them in the basket, and we did have a little egg thievery going on, but all in all, it was pretty fun, and the girls were delighted to find treats (puffies and cookies) inside.
We had a really great church service this morning. Easter is always such a powerful holiday for us, when we take time to really remember the cost of the cross, and celebrate the glorious victory that we have now in Jesus. It's so amazing!
The rain spoiled our beach plans, but we had a nice lunch with Sybil, Ted, and Nathaniel, and then a relaxing afternoon of watching the Master's (Dan), taking a nice hot bath with a good book (Nicci), and taking a long nap (Abby and Izzy). We're a little sad that Dan has to go back to work tomorrow, but our long weekends mean that our laundry gets a little backed up, so I guess it's good that all good things come to an end? That's my silver lining for the day, anyway.
