Nana and Papa O got the girls a pool and pool accoutrements for their birthday and we FINALLY had the opportunity to set the pool up in the backyard! The girls LOVED it. Abby was a little hesitant about sitting down (the water was pretty chilly), but they both had fun splashing and kicking. Izzy's version of blowing bubbles is pretty funny, but she's SO brave about sticking her face in, which bodes well for swimming lessons! Hurray!
The weather is supposed to be amazing again today, so my plan is to gauge the girls' moods at lunchtime, and then either head out to the zoo, or have another backyard pool day. Fun either way!
Playtime is becoming more and more fun for the girls... they are giggling at each other all of the time, and they are able to entertain themselves for LONG stretches, unless they're tired. I try to insert myself into the playtime frequently enough to get them to try new things (stacking blocks, learning the names of things, differentiating colors), but sometimes, I almost feel superfluous. But they're stuck with me, whether they like it or not :)
