Getting Back into the Groove
Getting back into some semblance of a schedule has been the one and only agenda item for the past two weeks, and we're almost there! We're having a hard time trying to re-determine naptime. It would be nice for scheduling purposes if we could move down to one LONG nap in the afternoon, but the girls are still very obviously tired at 11, so we're still taking two shorter naps.
The girls vocabularies are increasing by leaps and bounds, and they're starting to get frustrated when we can't understand them the first time they say something. They're also parroting almost all of my exclamations of "geesh!" "yikes!" and "oops!" We're a pretty clean-language household in general, but this reminds me to make sure that we're on high alert about what we say!
Our semester is going to be pretty busy! I just started a Bible study this morning (WITH child care, hooray!) that will be on Mondays through February; Tuesday mornings we'll go back to story time at the library; Wednesdays we have Kindermusik through the end of Feb; and Thursdays we'll start Little Gym. That leaves Fridays for our "field trips" to the aquarium or the zoo. And if it EVER warms up, we're going to try to do walks to the park in the afternoons, working around nap times. Busy busy busy!
It has been RIDICULOUSLY cold around here. We had a hard freeze three nights in a row, and it didn't make it out of the low 40s at the warmest parts of the day. Crazy. We're pretty worried about the girls' citrus trees, but we're hoping for the best!
Hopefully the weather is taking a turn for the better, and we'll have some fun outside pictures soon. For now, this one of Izzy playing with her Dad's shades will have to suffice... :)
