Visiting Santa and Decking the Halls

We try to catch Santa when he visits the Bass Pro Shop because the lines are usually shorter and the store is a vast wonderland of 4-wheelers, boats, and stuffed game animals that keep the girls entertained when we do need to wait a while.  The girls had a great time in the store, and were brave and talking a big game while we waited in line, but...

When we did reach Santa's lap, only Abby was willing to sit there... Izzy developed a vice-like grip on her Dad and would NOT sit for a picture, even a teary picture.  She did, however, make sure that Santa knew that she wanted and animal bag.  And Abby let him know that she wanted a light.

That's right.  Izzy's deepest desire right now is a bag to put her animals in.  And Abby wants a light.  What kind of light, you may ask? And we have asked... repeatedly.  But she has no qualifiers, no description... just... a light.  Where the girls come up with these things, I will never know. :)

After our mildly traumatic Santa experience, we went home to trim the tree.  The girls were VERY excited to be reacquainted with their touchable Nativity and were doubly thrilled to be allowed to put their own ornaments on the tree this year.  Abby busted a move when she rediscovered the ornament that sings "Sleigh Ride."  It's so fun to see them starting to remember traditions from last year, remembering where decorations go in the house, and which knick-knacks sing or light up to delight them.  We're totally loving this wonderful time of the year.
