Busy Day

GPa had to go back to Illinois today. We were pretty sad to see him go. The girls light up when they see him, and they LOVE his beard :)

As a special treat before he left, Izzy let GPa in on a major milestone... her first tooth! It helps to explain why she was so dang cranky last night, and puts my mind at ease about that! It has just barely broken the surface, but it's definitely there! (If you really zoom in on the picture above, you can kind of see it.) I guess I'd better pull out the baby book! So far, Abby's gums are still smooth... I'm not anxious for her to catch up to her sister... we need a good night's sleep first!

Abby has recently discovered standing. She LOVES it! Chickigram got the girls a Laugh'n'Learn kitchen at the Buy'n'Sell on Saturday, thinking that it was something the girls would grow into, but we discovered that they really love it already! Abby loves to use it as a brace when she's standing.

The kitchen has a lot of buttons and activities that make lots of noise; the girls are delighted. Dad's favorite is the counting song, which now goes through ALL of our heads at all hours of the day and night... It's really a fun, fun toy!

No toy is ever quite as fun as Rica, who can bring a smile to even a mostly hysterical baby :) Hurray for pets! :)
