The girls have graduated to the "big kids" shopping carts. It's VERY exciting for me, because it means that I don't have to limit my grocery trips to items that I can fit into the basket that I hang on the hooks on the stroller. They LOVED the little car cart at H.E.B. this weekend. They grabbed the steering wheels and laughed for most of the trip. Toward the end of the trip, they started to bat at each other, and Abby got a little tuckered out, but all in all, it was a fun adventure! It's an interesting transition for me... I love that they are interacting more and more with the world, but it makes errands and lunches out a little more challenging, because they're much less likely to just fall asleep, and thus they need to be entertained.
Abby continues to be our studious daughter. She spent almost 15 minutes investigating this brush yesterday morning, just turning it over and over, putting it in her mouth, feeling the bristles. It's so fun to watch their brains going!
They both seem to be changing so fast these days! Abby is sitting up by herself and has just about mastered pulling herself up to standing. She LOVES standing!
The girls are beginning to understand things, we think. They respond to their names (although, I think they both respond to both names), and they (sometimes) look at the appropriate parent when we say Mommy and Daddy. We can't be sure, but we think that Izzy was really throwing on command...
Izzy is crawling faster, and with purpose now. She still takes little breaks, but she does get to where she wants to be!
There are some pretty drippy noses in these pictures... we're all fighting through a little cold. The girls are mercifully in good moods, although sleep hasn't come easy for Izzy (or for Mom and Dad) for the past couple of nights. Alas.
