Sippy Cups
The girls continue to eat more and more "solid" baby food. We give them little tastes of things from our own plates now, when appropriate, which is making me think a little more about meal planning, and eating in a more healthful fashion. Frozen pizza isn't ideal for sharing with the babies!
We are letting the girls experiment with sippy cups. So far, they're really just dinner-time toys, but they seem to position them correctly... they just don't understand about tipping them back to enjoy the liquid refreshment. They have fun, though, which is really the important part!
GPa leaves this afternoon, which is sad. He helped us finish up our post-Ike repairs... he fixed our hole-y screens and banged our gutter back into shape. He's also working on helping us refine our compost bin to be more user-friendly. Right now, it's VERY difficult to get back into the bin to turn and use the old compost.
We took the girls to have their "6-month" pictures taken yesterday. Ike interrupted the planned date, so they ended up being 7-month pictures, and they are very, very cute. To take a look, you can go to http://mystudio.kiddiekandids.com/ and log in. The sitting number is 613004345 and the sitting code is w3x7fe94. I believe you'll have to sign up to have your own login and things to view the pics. The girls were pretty good for the shoot... Izzy and Abby seem to switch personalities when we're in public... at home, Izzy is super giggly and easy going, but in public, she's not easily amused and is kind of touchy. Abby on the other hand is more pensive and observant at home, but in public, she's quick with her smiles and doesn't get as mad as she does at home. Odd!
We've been having some sleeping issues of late. Izzy was up SCREAMING in the middle of the night and wouldn't go back to sleep. It's hard to tell if she's not feeling well, or if she's just tired of being in her bed, because she went to sleep immediately when I brought her into bed with me. We don't want to raise her to manipulate us, but also don't want to be in pain, uncomforted. Dilemmas. Hopefully everything will even out shortly :)

since when can the girls stand up on their own? i really need to graduate and get down there asap
"On their own" might be a bit of an overstatement, but they LOVE standing and jumping. I got a cute video of Abby standing at the new Laugh'n'Learn kitchen that I'll post soon... you'll be impressed.
The pictures of the girls are soooo adorable!!! They did a really nice job at the photo studio.
We have the same sleeping "problem" with Olivia. Around 3 am she screams so much that we can't get her back to sleep in her crib and bring her in our bed. The second!!! her head touches our mattress she's back asleep (weird). Right now I don't mind it too much since I'm just so glad that I still get my sleep ;-) We'll see when we have to start doing something about it.
