The girls had an amazing time this afternoon playing with their new little car. It's intended to be a Flintsone-type vehicle, operated by the driver's feet, but Izzy's legs aren't quite long enough, and she's inherited her mother's tendency to enjoy being treated like a princess....
Abby didn't seem to mind being the workhorse one bit. The girls played like this for almost 30 minutes without any interference from me. They giggled; Izzy demanded to get going when Abby investigated the "gas tank" for a little too long; they noticed Rica in the window; they laughed at their reflection in the low window... and just generally had a wonderful time! It was SO fun to watch!
Abby's little gesture toward the sky at the end of the video is how she lets me know that she sees a bird. There are a LOT of Birds of Prey coasting around our neighborhood, for some reason, and the girls LOVE watching them... they say a word that sounds sort of like "bird," and reach for the sky. They also enjoy helicopters and jets, which fly over much less frequently (thankfully!).
Can I just mention again how excited we are that we can play OUTSIDE in January? It's such a nice escape when we're feeling cooped up. It's been a little chilly this week, but it warms up in the afternoons, so we've been playing on the new Little Tikes play set. Abby has taken to it with aplomb, and Izzy is warming up after her initial "Fear of All Things New" wore off. Abby has even learned to scootch herself down the slide!

It is great being retired. I get to look at the new posts early and put up comments. Nic, You know the 'play structure' is a LOT bigger than the tiny tyke thing - right.
How big are those birs of prey?
What is the PT and OT analysis of this activity. It is great to have all this professional medical input.
GPA
The OT analysis is .....JEALOUS that your kids have so many great toys. Maybe they can learn to share with the less fortunate. My kid had a blast playing with a paper plate tonight!
